One Month of Pictures

I mentioned in a previous post that I have started using DailyBooth

I have succesfully managed to use this app for over a month now. On day 31 (after one month of use) I used the widget that allows you to put all your photographs in to a video

Below is the result. It would be great to get some comments and feedback let me know what you think



On reflection to this video; it is kind a surreal experience watching a month of your life pass before your eyes. Each picture has a unique meaning to me. In a years time I will be able to watch this video and know exactly what I did between February and March. I am really enjoying using this app, it allows me to interact with friends from other social networks in a new and interesting way. I plan on using DailyBooth for the foreseeable future and will be publishing videos at regular intervals.

Aesop's Fable : Video Content Capture

For my fable i used video as part of the interactive content.

When I started this project, i had intentions of using college HD cameras and booking out a studio, unfortunately I was given notice to quit my current property while doing this project, and finding somewhere else to live took main priority.

This left me with less time than I had originally anticipated to complete the project, meaning I had to work around some of my original intentions.

Capturing video using one of colleges cameras is one things i ran out of time to do. In order to work around this I used my mini dv video camera, hooked it up to my MacBook and used PhotoBooth as the capture program.

Not the most professional way to do things, but under the circumstances it was the only way I could get things done, also goes to show with the right tools and knowledge most things are possible

How To Cross The Road Instructional Video

Above is my final "How to Cross the Road" Instructional Video


I found the film be be a very enjoyable part of this project. I have under took many small video projects before, but this one was on a much lager scale.

Using the camera was easy once I had learned the basics

The editing process was equally enjoyable as the filming. I have done some simple editing before and found the transition form iMove to Apple Final Cut simple and intuitive.

Over all i feel i have gained a lot from partaking in the video module and feel i have a renewed interest in video. I am now considering taking taking the video route in the second year of the course.

This project has also made me consider taking a career in either post production or as a camera opereator / videographer.

I am very proud of this piece of video it currently has 385 views on revver.com. I would like to thank all the people who have been helping me promote it and help it get extra views and would ask anyone who reads this blog post to add this to there facebook status

How to Cross the Road Animatic

The storyboards and animatics help the final video piece to be very success full.

The animatics were a great source to reference back to when out filming on location. By having a reference for each scene this helped keep me organized and this save time as i could refer back to it to see shot framing and what should be happening for each scene.

The Guardian Guide to Making Video

At the weekend (Saturday, 26 January 2008) I bought The Guardian for a supplement about making video.



I was please to find this supplement easy to read and very informative

Ever since I first saw Wallace and Gromit I have enjoyed setting up a camera and creating stop animations with simple objects laying around my house (toy cars, action figures etc)

In the future I hope to improve on my post production techniques to give my work a more professional and slick appeal.
